After Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race, a certain group of libertarian celebrities rallied around Vice President Kamala Harris — posting selfies, knocking on doors and performing at her rallies. After the damage caused by Donald Trump’s victory, athletes, rappers and actors are writing about it. Here’s how everyone from Simone Biles to Cardi B and Billie Eilish are dealing with their grief.

After supporting Harris and appearing at a convention on his behalf, Cardi B shared an Instagram video with the words: “I hate y’all bad.” Asked on Instagram Live if she would appear at Trump’s inauguration, she added, “I’m sick of you! Burn your hats, mom. I’m really sad. I swear to God I’m really sad.”

In the weeks leading up to the election, the singer refused to support any candidate (although he signed a crowd of first-time voters). But during the show after Trump’s victory, he told the crowd: “I hope we can be a moment of peace for you and a moment of safety.” He continued, “I’m sorry for our country and for my women here, I love you very, very much.”

The comedian posted an old clip from his show celebrating women’s rights with the caption, “men’s rights are human rights (as we prophesied……).” “I love men!” he said with a laugh, digging dirt from his grave. I say that because I fear for my life!

In an Instagram story, the soon-to-be Glinda wrote that she is “holding the hand of everyone who feels the immeasurable weight of this outcome today.” Good witchcraft, indeed.

The singer called Trump’s victory “a war on women.” At a rally in Nashville on Wednesday, he added, “The man who hates women the most is about to become president.”

Last year, Trump was found responsible for sexually assaulting secretary E. Jean Carroll at a New York department store in the 90s. Responding to his victory, he wrote: “I tried to tell you.”

Leave it to Every Day welcome Stewart to find humor and hope after the election. He encouraged Harris supporters to “keep fighting and keep working every day to create a better society for our children, for this world, for this country that we know is possible.”

The actress and model all presented an image that calls women “the heart of civilization.” Alba had endorsed Harris before the election, appearing at the meeting on behalf of the VP. Neither Jenner nor Duff endorsed the vote, but Duff liked Katy Perry and Taylor Swift’s Instagram posts announcing their support for Harris.

On Wednesday, the actress reportedly posted a photo joking that she would drink a bottle of Drano if Trump won. After her victory, she shared a quote about men “truly, the most treacherous and average” and closed her X account. I feel staying offline is good for the soul now, though.
